Starting from structure
The work began with classic tailored references and then pushed toward sharper, more stylized line work.
Even in this early stage, the interest was less in traditional tailoring and more in how structure changes attitude.

Tailoring study / June 2023
An early tailoring research project that still informs the work today.
A foundation-era exploration of precise lines, metallic finish studies, and the beginnings of Oliver Heeck's interest in sculptural tailoring.

Study in Chrome is the earliest project on the site, but it remains important because it introduced the tailoring logic that later collections refine.
The project also revealed an early attraction to shine, controlled structure, and garment surfaces that feel cinematic under light.

The work began with classic tailored references and then pushed toward sharper, more stylized line work.
Even in this early stage, the interest was less in traditional tailoring and more in how structure changes attitude.

02
Small metallic interventions were used to test how light can make otherwise simple forms feel heightened.
Those decisions later grew into more confident uses of reflective finishes in newer work.
03
The technical handling is understandably less resolved than the later projects, but that contrast is useful in the archive.
Keeping one earlier study visible helps show progression rather than pretending the work appeared fully formed.

04
Study in Chrome anchors the archive and gives viewers a useful frame of reference for how Oliver Heeck's language has evolved.
It earns its place by showing the beginning of a consistent design instinct rather than just being old work.
The creator
The strongest work lives between research clarity, physical construction, and the way a look reads in motion. That is why the site gives equal weight to process notes, image direction, and finished pieces.
